Sands China Holds Integrated Resort Career Exhibition Exclusively for University Students

Provides unique career development opportunities

(Macao, June 20, 2016) – Sands China Ltd. hosted an Integrated Resort Career Exhibition Exclusively for University Students at The Venetian® Macao’s Adelson Advanced Education Centre Monday, drawing over 170 local students. The event was targeted at Macao’s university students and graduates, in order to provide them with unique career development opportunities.

As Macao’s leading integrated resort developer, Sands China supports Macao’s transformation into a world centre of tourism and leisure, and considers the cultivation of local talent to be an important component of that process. The company values local university students and graduates as representing the future of Macao. Through this career exhibition, the company offers university students and graduates a platform to learn more about the abundance of career options available and provide them with opportunities to accrue valuable work experience, paving the way for their future careers.

Special guests in attendance at the opening ceremony included Chang Kun Hong, deputy director of the Tertiary Education Services Office; Elvo Sou, head of the student counselling and development section of the University of Macau; Hester Cheang, director of the Gaming and Research Center of Macao Polytechnic Institute; Antonio Chu Chan Weng, head of the technical and academic support division of the Institute for Tourism Studies; Maria Antonia Espadinha, vice rector of the University of Saint Joseph; and Antonio Ramirez, senior vice president of human resources for Sands China Ltd.

Speaking at the event’s opening ceremony, Ramirez said: “With recruiting graduates from universities in Macao as its first priority, Sands China is dedicated to nurturing integrated resort talent through collaboration with the government, local universities and institutions, and through the different initiatives of the Sands China Academy.”

During the exhibition, students had the chance to tour display rooms showcasing various career opportunities in areas such as conventions and exhibitions, food and beverage, hotel and concierge and housekeeping, as well as the soon-to-open The Parisian Macao. Sands China team members were on hand to give an introduction to the daily operations of different departments. Two team members participating in Sands China’s Career Experience Opportunities Programme also shared their experiences training in the programme and working at Sands China.

Attractive programmes available to students and graduates include the Parisian Experience Programme, which provides a short-term, flexible work experience, as well as privileged benefits; the Summer/Winter Break Integrated Resort Experience Programme, which provides up to two months’ work experience for participants to explore various aspects of integrated resorts; and the Fast Track Supervisor Programme, an intensive programme aimed at training exceptional graduates to supervisory-level positions within four to 12 months.
