Sands China Receives First Group of Guests from Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

Around 500 guests arrive at a Macao integrated resort via world’s longest sea bridge

(Macao, Oct. 24, 2018) – Sands China Ltd. on Wednesday welcomed its first group of guests to arrive via the new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HKZM Bridge), which officially opened Tuesday. The guests’ arrival at The Parisian Macao makes Sands China the first integrated resort operator in Macao to receive guests arriving from the 55-kilometre bridge.

“Our warmest congratulations on the opening to traffic of the HKZM Bridge, the world's longest cross-sea bridge,” said Dr. Wilfred Wong, president of Sands China Ltd. “The opening of this mega bridge marks another milestone in cross-border integration. It can greatly shorten the traffic time between Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, thereby contributing to the forming of a ‘one-hour quality living circle’ in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This state-level bridge also helps promote exchange and sustainable development in the three regions, while facilitating close connectivity between the cities of the Greater Bay Area.”

The several busloads of passengers arrived at The Parisian Macao at 11 a.m., after having departed earlier that morning from Hong Kong. The guests were given an energetic welcome by The Parisian Macao’s Streetmosphere entertainers before enjoying a special reception of light refreshments in their honour at the Parisian ballroom.
